Privacy Policy
Effective July 28, 2026
Barn Inc. (“Barn”, “we”, “us”) operates the website mybarn.com and the applications and services we offer (together, the “Services”). This policy explains what information we collect, how we use and store it, and when we share it. If you have any questions, write to us at privacy@mybarn.com.
What we collect
We keep this minimal.
- Information you send us. If you email us or submit a form on our website, we receive what you send — typically your email address and your message.
- Website logs. Like most websites, our servers record basic technical information about visits, such as IP address, browser type, and the pages requested. We use this to keep the website running and secure.
- Information from services you connect. If you choose to connect a third-party account, such as a Google account, to the Services, we receive the data you authorize. The section below describes how we handle data from Google.
How we use information
We use the information we collect to:
- provide, maintain, and improve the Services;
- respond when you contact us;
- protect the Services and the people who use them; and
- comply with the law.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Information from Google APIs and connected Google services
If you connect a Google account or a Google service to the Services, we access only the data you authorize through Google’s consent screen, and we use it solely to provide the features you asked for.
Barn’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
In particular, for data obtained through Google APIs:
- we use it only to provide or improve user-facing features of the Services for you;
- we do not sell it, and we do not transfer it to data brokers or advertising platforms;
- we do not use it for advertising, or to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes;
- we do not use it to train generalized artificial intelligence or machine learning models;
- we share it with third parties only as necessary to provide or improve user-facing features (for example, with the infrastructure providers that host the Services), for security purposes, or to comply with applicable law; and
- no person at Barn reads it, except with your permission, when needed for security or legal reasons, or when it has been aggregated and anonymized for internal operations.
Audio and video from devices you connect
Audio, video, and event information from devices you connect through Google is used to provide the features you request — for example, showing that content to you and to people you have authorized — and is handled in accordance with this policy, including the Google API commitments above.
Revoking access
You can disconnect a Google account or service from Barn at any time from your Google account security settings. For Google Nest devices, you can also manage or revoke Barn’s access through Google’s Partner Connections Manager. Once you disconnect, we stop receiving data from that service. You can also ask us to delete information we hold about you at any time by writing to privacy@mybarn.com.
How we share information
We do not sell your information. We share it only:
- with service providers that help us operate the Services (such as hosting and infrastructure providers), who may use it only on our behalf;
- when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or security of Barn, our users, or others; and
- in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case this policy will continue to apply to your information, and data obtained from Google APIs will be transferred only as permitted by the Google API Services User Data Policy.
Retention
We keep information only as long as we need it for the purposes described here. Website logs are kept for a short period. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information, including encryption in transit. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work to protect what you share with us.
Children
The Services are not directed at children under 13 (or the higher age required in your country, such as 16 in parts of Europe), and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Where we operate
Barn is based in the United States, and information we collect is processed there. If you use the Services from elsewhere, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information — including under the GDPR if you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, and under the CCPA if you are a California resident. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law, and we will never treat you differently for exercising your rights. To make a request, email privacy@mybarn.com.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the updated version here and revise the effective date above. If a change is significant, we will provide more prominent notice.
